Granular Activated Carbon
SURSORB GG-Hg
Granular activated carbon media for mercury removal

SURSORB GG-Hg granular activated carbon is a chemical impregnated carbon for the removal of organic and elemental mercury from natural gas, air, and by-product hydrogen streams. The carbon is manufactured from coconut shell charcoal. It has a unique pore structure and superior hardness necessary for removing mercury. SURSORB GG-Hg carbon is properly manufactured by steam activation. This maximizes the pore structure for adsorbing mercury from the gas stream.

During the adsorption process, mercury is attracted to the activated carbon surface where a chemical reaction converts it to mercuric sulfide. The sulfide product is then retained in the pores of the carbon granules.
